March 3, 10 and 17, 2021

Senator Murray Sinclair, Chief Commissioner of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, will be the first speaker in the Truth and Reconciliation speakers series starting March 3rd. The Chinook School Division in conjunction with the Southwest Truth and Reconciliation Committee will be hosting a Truth and Reconciliation Speakers Series on the first three Wednesdays of March. Poet and artist, Zoey Roy, will be the second speaker on March 10th, and Mary Culbertson, Treaty Commissioner of Saskatchewan, will close out the series on March 17th. In the past, Chinook students attended the Truth and Reconciliation walk held every May in Swift Current. The 2020 event was canceled due to COVID-19 restrictions and with the likelihood that the 2021 event would also not be an option the committee adopted the idea of a speakers series. The 2021 speakers series will be live-streamed to schools in Chinook School Division.​ ​​
