Students and teachers from Swift Current Comprehensive High School attended the Chinook Board meeting on October 9 to deliver a presentation to trustees on "Student Engagement" and what that looks like in a high school setting.
Accompanied by Principal Larry Kielo and Teachers Joe Carnahan and Mark Tollefson, the students talked about how they were engaged in school due in part to their participation in Autobody and Construction. The students who presented were: Jessie Hattum (grade 11), Austin Meyer (grade 12), Danika Messer (grade 12), and past student Dawson Harlos who graduated from SCCHS in June.
The students brought work samples to show the Board what they worked on during their time in Autobody and Construction. They shared how and why they were engaged in school due to the Shop programs they had the opportunity to participate in at SCCHS.
