Chinook wishes to express our heartfelt condolences to the Humboldt Broncos Jr 'A' Hockey Club and community. The players, parents and families, billet families, personnel, friends, volunteers, board and extended communities are all in our thoughts and prayers. We are also thinking of and are grateful for the first responders, RCMP, emergency and medical personnel, counsellors, clergy, educators, community leaders and all who have been working to support those involved in the tragic accident.
Our Division and school flags have been lowered to half-mast to express our solidarity with the people of Humboldt and in honour of those we have lost and their families. We are encouraging those in our schools and Division offices to wear any jersey or wear green on Thursday, April 12 to show their support as well.
In light of the tragedy this weekend, the Government of Saskatchewan website has been updated to provide information for anyone in the public that is looking for resources or supports during this very difficult time.
In addition, below is a tip sheet for adults supporting children, that has been generously shared by the Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board via the Canadian Association of Communicators in Education (CACE).
