Due to extreme weather/road conditions and to ensure the safety of our students and drivers, all buses that run outside of the city of Swift Current (rural buses) are CANCELLED this afternoon – Monday, October 2nd - and will also be cancelled all day Tuesday, October 3rd. This includes rural students coming in to Irwin, All Saints and École Centennial (FI).
For TODAY (Monday, Oct 2nd): Affected parents/guardians please either pick your children up after school or activate your emergency/weather in-town billets.
Schools/drivers are making efforts to directly communicate with all parents of affected students.
The recent weather has made several of our grid roads impassable and not conducive to safe bus traffic. We will evaluate the rest of the week on Tuesday afternoon and will communicate any further cancellations.
Please note: After receiving several calls from drivers about impassible roads throughout the southwest, our transportation department had to make a quick decision and time did not allow for checking the condition of each and every grid road in the Division. The safety of our students and drivers is our primary concern and we will err on the side of caution and prevention.
