It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Chinook School Division Trustee Bernie Ford, on December 26, 2016. A trustee for a total of 40 years, Bernie was a builder and advocate of public and Hutterian education in rural southwest Saskatchewan. He was passionate about the education and well-being of all children and was dedicated to serving the best interests of all students in the Division. Among many other community and volunteer awards, he was the first trustee to receive the Saskatchewan Award of Merit from the Saskatchewan School Boards Association, the first trustee to receive a service award from the Saskatchewan High School Athletic Association and was recently the first Chinook trustee to receive a 40 Year Long Service Award. We will miss Bernie’s dedication, candor and compassion on the Board. In the spirit of his preferred style of keeping things “short and sweet”, we say goodbye to our friend and colleague. Bernie... you will be missed.
