TODAY AT IRWIN:

  • Happy Birthday to Dallas McMurtry on Saturday.   Please come down to the office for your birthday pencil.

 

  • Last day of 81/82 swimming lessons today.

 

  • Library Club today at lunch.

 

  • Drama practice today at noon in the band room.

     
  • Swift Current Broncos Lung All Stars Pledge envelopes went home yesterday.    Envelopes are due back on Thursday, November 9th.    How the pledge works is students sell bronco tickets for $15/each.    For every ticket sold, the school will receive $5, the Swift Current Broncos will receive $5 and the Lung Association will receive $5

     
  • Senior Boys and Girls competing in SWAC District Volleyball Playoffs this Saturday.  Boys will be playing in Frontier; Girls will be playing in Fox Valley.

     
  • Curling starts Tuesday, November 7th for Grades 6 – 8.  Please sign-up on the sheet outside the office.   All levels are welcome from beginner to advanced.

     
  • Could any students who are in Cadets (Air, Sea or Navy) and any students that are involved in Scouts or Girl Guides, please meet in the office following announcements.

     
  • A reminder to please submit photos for the Virtual Wall of Honour for the Remembrance Day Service by Tuesday, November 7th.  Photos can be emailed to Mrs. Thompson.  Also, any students who have Remembrance Day stories, please submit them to your homeroom teacher by Tuesday, November 7th

     
  • Active Play Program begins on Monday for those students that are registered.   The program will run Mondays and Wednesdays after school from 3:15 – 5:15.  Grade 1 & 2 students will attend Mondays and Grades 3 – 6 will attend Wednesdays.  

 

  • Poetry Contest
    • $400 first prize, $350 second prize, $300 third prize. All Irwin submissions entered into a book draw.
    • Grade 7 and 8 students who are interested in entering poetry into the Jesemy Stursberg National Poetry Contest please ask your ELA teacher or Mr. Biem for information.

  • The Young Writers Poetry Contest – for all students in Kindergarten – Grade 8.   See your teacher or Mr. Biem for details.
  • ​Just a reminder, now that there is some snow on the ground, please refrain from throwing snow while outside.
