Day 6

TODAY AT IRWIN: 

• Ice Hut today for Grades 7 - 8 Students.    Please note that Ice Hut will be open today at 11:35 (beginning of lunch) instead of morning break.

• Draws for our Fire Prevention Week Poster Contest winners will be made this morning.    An announcement will be made later today congratulating our winners….stay tuned. 

•  The Irwin Ice Volleyball Bake sale will be happening at first recess today!!!!! Grade 5 - 8 please purchase your treats across from the store.   K - 4 students, there will be a table set up in the lower hallway.   

• All Senior Boys Volleyball players please meet Mr. Boyer in front of the Ice Hut (I think that’s the name of the school store? Lol) at 9:50 to set up for the bake sale. 

• Thank you to all the students and families who came out last night for Kevin Miller’s author night.   Everyone who attended learned a lot and had some fun using their imagination and creativity.   

• Grade 7 students will continue their swimming lessons this week today and tomorrow.

• Fire Drill tomorrow morning at 11:20pm

• The Senior Boys Volleyball Team will practice today after school from 3:15-5:00 and tomorrow evening from 5:00 - 7:00pm.

• Active Place for Grades 3 - 5 tomorrow after school 

• Members of the Swift Current Fire Department will be at Irwin Thursday morning for Fire Prevention Week  with an Inflatable House Activity set up in the gym for K-5 students from periods 1 through 4. 

• Each homeroom will have approximately 30 minutes to participate in the inflatable house activities.  K-5 teachers, your homeroom will be called to the gym during the morning

• Muffin and Read Morning this Friday to conclude Education Week.    This event will take place during Period 1 within different locations throughout the school:   The gym, the library and front foyer.   All students must report to their homerooms for attendance at the warning bell. 

• O.M. Irwin is starting a chess club this year for grade 5-8 students.  There are no tryouts, and no knowledge of Chess is necessary to join.  If you like board games of strategy and you are interested in playing and learning about chess this year, please sign up outside the office.  Please see Mr. Kohlman if you have any questions.
