Day 1

TODAY AT IRWIN: 

• Happy Birthday today to Jace Drieger

•  Ice Hut today during morning break for Grades 5 - 6 students  

• All cross country members meet at the grade 4  doors at noon.  All forms to attend Eastend must be handed in today.

• There will be bottle recycling today at lunch.   Could the following students please meet in the Art Room at 11:35:

• Today is the last day of Grade 4 swimming lessons.    Grade 2 classes will begin their lessons next week, starting Monday.   

• Terry’s Team will meet today following this morning’s announcements at the office.

• Active Play for Grades 3-5 starts today.  They will be using room 301, the courtyard, and foyer.

• The Irwin Intermediate Girls Red team and Boys team will have a game against each other today after school. Please remember your jerseys and running shoes! 🏃‍♂️ 

• The Senior Boys will practice tonight from 5:00 - 7:00.

• Grade 6 Immunizations consent forms are due back today.   If you have not yet handed your form in, please bring them down to the office. 

• 2023-2024 School Pictures - todayMs McWillie’s Kindergarten Class - Grade 8

• The first SLC meeting of the year will be held Friday at 11:35 in the library. Any students in Grade 6-8 are welcome to attend. Please bring your lunch. 

• 2023-2024 School Pictures - tomorrow for Mrs. Robson’s Kindergarten Class

• Quick reminder for each homeroom to come up with names for the polar bear twins.    Please have names in by Friday. 

     TERRY FOX ANNOUNCEMENTS

• Terry Fox Run will take place this Friday in Periods 3 & 4. We will leave Irwin shortly after 10:30 and be back for lunch. Families are welcome to join us for the walk.  Staff and students are encouraged to wear Irwin School colors on Friday. 

• We will be holding our second Toonies for Terry Hat Day this Friday.   Staff and Students are encouraged to bring a toonie and wear their hat for the day.

• Thank you to everyone who ordered a #Dear Terry t-shirt. They will be distributed to you this week when they come in. 

• Our fundraising total as of this morning is $4,731.40, which includes a generous donation from our local Giant Tiger Store of $500.00.   If we reach our $10,000 goal, our school will earn an afternoon off with dance parties with DJ Darby and other activities. If we raise over $7000 as we have in the past few years, Mr. Darby has agreed to let us choose what his incentive for us will be. Stay tuned this week on how you can vote on what Mr. Darby will have to do! 

• Students can set up their own fundraising page at http://schools.terryfox.ca/OMIrwin All students who collect pledges through their online page will be entered into a prize draw.
