Day 4

TODAY AT IRWIN: 

• Happy Birthday today to Kate Halpenny and to Jovelle Ramos who celebrated over the weekend. 

• Congratulations to the Senior Boys Volleyball team for an undefeated weekend and winning First Place at the Herbert tournament on Saturday. 

• The Senior Boys will practice: 

• Today after school from 3:15 - 5:00

• Thursday evening from 5:00 - 7:00.

• Congratulations to the Senior Girls for their silver medal finish at their tournament over the past weekend  The girls will have practice today 5 -7 

• All Cross-country team members who are running today after school at Riverside park meet in the library at first recess

•  Ice Hut is back starting today during morning break for Grades 7 - 8 students  

• Grade 4 classes will continue with their swimming lessons today through Thursday.   

• Gr. 1 and 2 Active Play starts tomorrow at 3:30.  They will be using room 301, the courtyard and foyer. 

• SCC AGM tomorrow evening at 6:00 PM and SCC regular meeting will follow at 6:30  

• Active Play 3-5 starts Thursday.  They will be using room 301, the courtyard, and foyer.

• Grades 5 - 8 Students who are interested in helping with recycling, please meet in Mr. Darby’s room today at lunch. 

• 2023-2024 School Pictures - Thursday for Mrs Robson’s Kindergarten Class - Grade 8

• 2023-2024 School Pictures - Friday for Ms. McWillie’s Kindergarten Class

     TERRY FOX ANNOUNCEMENTS

• Terry Fox Run will take place this Friday, September 22nd in Periods 3 & 4. We will leave Irwin shortly after 10:30 and be back for lunch. Families are welcome to join us for the walk.

• Thank you to everyone who came out to the Family Movie Night on Friday. We raised $540.17. Thank you to Terry's Team for all your hard work putting together this event!

• Our Toonies for Terry Hat Day was very successful, raising $601.40. Mr. Boyer's grade 4s raised the most with $87, followed by Mrs. Robinson's grade 1 with $62, and Mr. Grainger's grade 7s with $53. We will be holding our second Toonies for Terry Hat Day this Friday, so hopefully some of the other classes can compete with these three! 

• Thank you to everyone who ordered a #Dear Terry t-shirt. They will be distributed to you this week when they come in. 

• Our fundraising total as of this morning is $3606.40, with funds coming in online, from our t-shirt sales, from Toonies for Terry, and our Family Movie Night fundraiser. If we reach our $10,000 goal, our school will earn an afternoon off with dance parties with DJ Darby and other activities. If we raise over $7000 as we have in the past few years, Mr. Darby has agreed to let us choose what his incentive for us will be. Stay tuned this week on how you can vote on what Mr. Darby will have to do! 

• Students can set up their own fundraising page at http://schools.terryfox.ca/OMIrwin All students who collect pledges through their online page will be entered into a prize draw.
