We began the month of April with a well-deserved break from school. When we returned, we were blasted with wind and snow! Active Play concluded this month for students in grades 1-5. I always feel a great sense of pride when I hear from the leaders what fun and kind participants we have at Central School. A short badminton season concluded this month with one week of regular season play and one week of playoffs. Congratulations to all participants and a shout out to the students that earned medals! I hope to play some of you before we put the nets and poles away for the season!

I look forward to long stretches of Spring-like weather in the month of May. This month we will continue to sell cases of World’s Finest Chocolates, which is our SCC’s primary fundraiser for student activities and field trips. Thank you to those families that have participated thus far. On Wednesday, May 22nd we are planning to have a Spring Family Forum where we will be serving a free pizza supper to families in attendance. There will be a number of fun activities for families to participate in, and a chance for parents/guardians to provide our school with ideas and feedback! This month our extracurricular musical group will continue to work hard preparing for the musical, Peter Pan! A performance date will be communicated in the near future. Finally, this month our grade 2 & 4 students will participate in swimming lessons, where they will learn about water safety and build confidence in the water!
