LIBRARY QUOTE OF THE WEEK
“Maybe hope is like a turtle under ice

breathing through its shell,

through its biochemistry, still alive.

Maybe hope waits for spring to come, for the ice to thaw

for the weight of the pond that encapsulates us to melt into nothing.

But maybe we are not meant to wait for springtime.

Maybe, instead, we are meant

to break the ice

and be free."

CST CURTI'S TIP OF THE WEEK
This past weekend I went to a presentation on domestic abuse. It was eye opening and shocking. After 21 years of policing and seeing the worst that people can do to each other, you would think it gets easier to deal with. Domestic abuse will never go away I suppose but we can talk about it and try to eliminate some of the stigma that surrounds it. Throughout my career I've seen the pain in someone's eyes, their facial expression and the way they interact with me. The pain is real, and the face shows it all the time! Talking to people that can help is just one way to help bring this problem to light.

Listening helps too!!

My tip………let's be the change for our future and stop domestic violence before it starts.

If you know you know!!

Cst Tony Curti
