LIBRARY QUOTE OF THE WEEK
“ The happiness
will come slowly,
the way light filters in
through the window
in the early morning hours.
So slowly
you don't even notice
the night is ending,
until you wake up
and see the sunlight. “
Caroline Kaufman, “untitled poem" (fragment) in Light Filters In: Poems (New York, NY, NY: HarperCollins, 2018), pages 130.
CST. CURTI'S TIP OF THE WEEK
What is a threat? What can happen if I threaten someone or they threaten me.? Good questions.
1. In the Criminal Code of Canada is states “ 264.1 (1) Every one commits an offence who, in any manner, knowingly utters, conveys or causes any person to receive a threat (a) to cause death or bodily harm to any person; (b) to burn, destroy or damage real or personal property; or (c) to kill, poison or injure an animal or bird that is the property of any person. “
What does that mean? If you threaten someone on purpose and you know what you said was a threat. Convey means that you communicated the threat to someone directly or indirectly through your words or actions.
What happens next is you are arrested and charged with Uttering Threats. It's a serious Criminal Code offence and the punishment is severe.
Example: 1. Tom tells Steve that he is going to beat him up after school. Tom further say's he is going to break his arm. This is Uttering a Threat.
Example 2. Tom tells Gerry that he is going to beat up Steve after school and break his arm. This is Uttering a Threat.
If you know you know!!
