Group
Support Group is Maverick School's own version of AA, NA and ALANON, which is held every Friday. Kayla Kornfeld (Youth Counsellor), Meghan Hanna (Cypress Health Addictions Counsellor) and students jointly run Support Group each week. Support Group focuses on a variety of topics, such as addictions, harm reduction and personal growth.
Group is held every Wednesday afternoon for students who wish to meet in a confidential setting to discuss topics that concern youth. Invited speakers educate students in regard to many topics: drug and alcohol use, healthy relationships, and sexually transmitted diseases.
