Day 1

TODAY AT IRWIN:

• Happy Birthday to Dallas McMurtry.   Please come down to the office for your birthday pencil.

• Could any students who are in Cadets, Scouts or Guides please come down to the office following this morning's announcements.
  
   
• Grade 8 swimming lessons begin today and will run through to Thursday this week and next week Tuesday to Friday.
  
   
• Today's Phone Ambassadors will be Lexia Nickel-Duncan, Payton Irons and Micaela Pretorius.
  
   
• Tomorrow's Morning Announcers will be Sydney Grainger, Mya Wiens and Micaela Pretorius.

• This afternoon, the Grade 6 – 8 students will be attending the Finland vs. Russia World U17 Hockey Game at the Iplex.   Students will be leaving the school at 12:15pm and will be picked up at the Iplex at 2:30pm in order to make their busses at the end of the day.   Only those students who had permission slips signed by their parents and handed in last week will be allowed to stay to finish the game.     All other students will be required to board the bus back to the school at 2:30pm.

• MADD Smartwheels presentation for Grades 4 – 6 today and tomorrow.    The schedule for today is as follows:
• 61 Class – 8:50 – 9:50am
• 62 Class – 10:25 – 11:35am
• Mr Darby's Class – 12:35 – 1:35pm.
  
   
• Senior Boys Volleyball City Banner Tournament today after school at Centennial / All Saints.
  
    
• Toast Tuesday tomorrow morning beginning at 8am.
  
   
• Middle Years Assembly – Tuesday at 10:55am (Period 4)
  
   
• Kids in the Kitchen tomorrow after school.

• Curling Club for Grade 6 – 8 students begins tomorrow from 3:45 to 4:45.  There are sliders and brooms available for students to use if they do not have their own equipment.  All you need to bring are clean, indoor running shoes and comfortable clothes that allow movement.  Curling fees are $25.00 for the season.  If you missed signing up, please see Mrs. Schommer or Miss Bertram as soon as possible.   

• Active Play will begin this week for students in Grade 1 – 6 that have registered for the program.    Active Play for Grade 1 and 2 students will be Wednesday after school and Grade 3 – 6 students will be Thursday after school.   Time is 3:15pm – 5:15pm.  Active play program will run until Thursday, December 12^th.

• Staff Meeting Wednesday after school.
  
   
• Remembrance Day Service will be held on Thursday during Period 3 and 4.   Students are encouraged to dress in formal attire.
  
   
• Irwin School will continue to showcase our local veterans in our Virtual Wall of Honour    If there are any families would like to add a photo of their loved one who has served in the Canadian Armed Forces, please email a digital copy of their photo to Mrs. Thompson by Wednesday.
  
   
• Senior Girls Volleyball City Banner Tournament on Thursday after school and Centennial and All Saints
