TODAY AT IRWIN:

  • Happy Birthday to Brooklyn Dmyterko.  Please come down to the office for your birthday pencil.
  • Recycling – Please place your recycle bins outside your classroom doors for pickup this morning.
  • Congratulations to Mr. Wong's class for winning the class pizza party.    They raised $414.96.   2nd place was Mr. Siemens' class, raising $342.74.   3rd place goes to Miss Gillanders' class who raised $317.73.  
  • Congratulations to the Intermediate Boys Red Basketball team who won their final game of the season to go undefeated.
  • There will be no milk sales today.
  • Wrestling practice today at lunch.   Please meet in the wrestling room at 11:50am.
  • Today's phone ambassadors are Chase Jasper and Zachary Potter.
  • Grade 2 Swimming Lessons today through Thursday and next week Monday – Thursday.
  • Curling Club today after school   Today will be the last day of curling for the year.   Please be at the Iplex at 3:45pm and bring your clean running shoes.
  • Kids in the Kitchen today after school.
  • Senior Girls Basketball practice today after school.
  • Miriam Koerner, the next published author to come to Irwin will be here tomorrow.  She will be talking to Middle Years students at 9:00 and elementary students at 10:30 am about her writing process, living in Northern Saskatchewan and some of her books.  Miriam has 2 books nominated for the Willow awards this year.  One is called Yellow Dog and the other is called When the Trees Crackle with Cold.  All students will have a chance to hear some of one of her novels.  We hope you are looking forward to getting to meet her and hear from such a note-worthy author.
  • Wednesday, February 27th is Pink Day.  It is a day to promote Bullying Awareness and Prevention.  This year's theme is "Be Someone's Hero".  Tomorrow, students and staff are invited to wear pink shirts to bring awareness to the day.
    The Student Leadership Team and the K-Kids are also challenging each student and staff member to try 1-2 Random Acts of Kindness during the week to show that simple positive gestures and words can sometimes make the biggest impact in someone else's day and life. 
  •  Random Acts of Kindness can make anyone a hero to someone.  Please watch for information during classes and posted around the school for Random Act of Kindness ideas.
  • Tomorrow's morning announcers will be Karley Tait and Sophie Regier.
  • Tomorrow's phone ambassadors will be Hudson Flaterud and Drew Eltom.
  • Senior Boys Basketball practice tomorrow after school.
  • K – 4 Assembly Thursday afternoon at 1:10pm.   Parents, grandparents and guardians are welcome to attend.
  • Senior Girls Basketball game Thursday after school in Gull Lake.
  • Intermediate Girls Black Basketball game Thursday after school at All Saints
  • Intermediate Girls Red Basketball game Thursday after school at Centennial.
