Day 2

TODAY AT IRWIN:

  • Happy Birthday to Aubrey Woelk.   Please come down to the office for your birthday pencil.
  • Today's Phone Ambassadors will be Kadence Olfert and Jorja Pettypiece.
  • Picture Day for Mrs. Dyck's Kindergarten Class and Grade 8 will be this morning.
  • Surge Basketball forms are available in the office if you are interested.  The forms are due to Mr. Herrick by today.
  • Toonies-for-Terry Hat Day is today. Bring a toonie so you can wear a hat.
  • Monday's Morning Announcers will be Zeke Dueck and Chaz Vandendort.
  • Monday's Phone Ambassadors will be Denton Walker and Aidan Robinson.
  • Swimming Lessons for the 61/62's will begin on Monday through to Thursday and the following week, Monday, October 1st – Thursday, October 4th.
  • SCC Meeting Monday evening beginning at 7pm.
  • The Terry Fox Run will take place next Thursday, September 27th in Periods 7 & 8. There are extra pledge sheets in the office. For every completed pledge sheet you bring in, you will be entered into the provincial draw for a new bike!   Students can also collect pledges online. Visit terryfox.ca/omirwin to set up your fundraising page.
  • Mr. Kohlman and Mr. Biem have agreed to help us out with fundraising for Terry Fox this year. Students can purchase a ballot for $1 each and vote for their favourite fundraising stunt that Mr. Kohlman and Mr. Biem will have to perform. These are crazy stunts like having to spend a day on the roof of Irwin School, performing a musical number in front of the students, or letting the students choose their outfits for a day. Ballots will be sold during morning and afternoon breaks in the foyer for middle years students. Elementary students can purchase ballots from their teacher. Students can purchase as many ballots as they like.
  •  Please return any pledges and pledge sheets to your homeroom teacher by September 27th. Last year Irwin School raised over six thousand, six hundred dollars, and this year if we raise $7000 or more, Mr. Darby will dye his hair, and the class with the most pledges will get to choose the colour!
