TODAY AT IRWIN:

• Happy Birthday to Carter Bolton-Gardner who celebrated on Saturday.   Please come down to the office for your birthday pencil.

• ​Safety Patrollers – Please come down to the office following this morning's announcements to sign up for shifts for the week.
   
• Store will be open today during morning break.
   
• Active Play program for Grades 1 & 2 students today after school from 3:15 – 5:15pm.
   
• Toast Tuesday tomorrow beginning at 8am.
   
• Senior Girls Basketball tryouts are tomorrow after school.
   
• School Drama Performance "Big Bad" – A play about the trial of the Big Bad Wolf - tomorrow night at 7pm.   Silver Collection at the door.   Everyone Welcome.   Dress Rehearsal will take place tomorrow afternoon beginning at 1:10pm. (Period 6)
   
• Term 1 Report Cards will be emailed on Wednesday.
   
• Active Play program for Grades 3 – 6 students Wednesday after school from 3:15 – 5:15 pm.
   
• Senior Boys Basketball tryouts are on Thursday after school.   
   
• School Dance is Thursday from 6:30 – 9:30.  Dance Invites are now available in the office.   Also, if you will be arriving late or leaving early, please sign the Late/Early List that is also in the office.
   
• Any Grade 6 – 8 parents who would be interested in helping chaperone the School Dance, please contact the office.
   
• Open Gym – Just a reminder of  the following changes regarding basketball during open gym:
   
• Two Hoops will be allocated to each grouping:
• Grades 5-6
• Grade 7
• Grade 8
   
• Only bump will be played.  The shoot-rebound game is done after some altercations because of it.

• Poetry Contest

• $400 first prize, $350 second prize, $300 third prize. All Irwin submissions entered into a book draw.
• Grade 7 and 8 students who are interested in entering poetry into the Jesemy Stursberg National Poetry Contest please ask your ELA teacher or Mr. Biem for information.
•  

• The Young Writers Poetry Contest – for all students in Kindergarten – Grade 8.   See your teacher or Mr. Biem for details.
