TODAY AT IRWIN:

• Happy Birthday to Kaedyn Jones.   Please come down to the office for your birthday pencil.

• ​Library Club today at lunch.
   
• Online booking for SLCs closes today at 4pm.    Please refer to SLC note that went home beginning of the month or on the school's website for more information.  After today, for those who have not booked their SLC, a date and time will be assigned to you.   
   
• Active Play program for Grades 1 & 2 students Monday after school from 3:15 – 5:15pm.
   
• Senior Girls Basketball Sign-up sheets are posted across from the office.    First tryout is on Tuesday.
   
• School Drama Performance "Big Bad" – A play about the trial of the Big Bad Wolf - Tuesday evening at 7pm.   Silver Collection at the door.   Everyone Welcome.   Dress Rehearsal will take place Tuesday afternoon beginning at 1:10pm. (Period 6)
   
• Term 1 Report Cards will be emailed on Wednesday.
  
  
• Active Play program for Grades 3 – 6 students Wednesday after school from 3:15 – 5:15 pm.
   
• Please sign up for Senior Boys Basketball across from the office.   First tryout is on Thursday.   These tryouts are for boys interested in trying out for the Senior Boys Basketball Team.   Intermediate tryouts will be at a later date.
   
• School Dance is Thursday, November 23^rd.  Dance Invites are now available in the office.   Also, if you will be arriving late or leaving early, please sign the Late/Early List that is also in the office.
  
  
• Any Grade 6 – 8 parents who would be interested in helping chaperone the School Dance, please contact the office.
• Open Gym – Effective today, the following changes will be made to basketball during open gym:
   
• Two Hoops will be allocated to each grouping:
• Grades 5-6
• Grade 7
• Grade 8
   
• Only bump will be played.  The shoot-rebound game is done after some altercations because of it.

• Poetry Contest

• $400 first prize, $350 second prize, $300 third prize. All Irwin submissions entered into a book draw.
• Grade 7 and 8 students who are interested in entering poetry into the Jesemy Stursberg National Poetry Contest please ask your ELA teacher or Mr. Biem for information.
•  

• The Young Writers Poetry Contest – for all students in Kindergarten – Grade 8.   See your teacher or Mr. Biem for details.
