TODAY AT IRWIN:

• Happy Birthday to Cole Allin and Ryder Smith.   Please come down to the office for your birthday pencil.

• Store will be open today during morning break.

• Drama practice today at noon in the band room.
   
• Pizza Day today.   Students will be eating at 11:35am as follows:
• Kindergarten students will eat in their classroom
• Grade 1-4 students will eat in the gym
• Grade 5-8 students will eat in their classrooms
• Siblings in Grade 5-8 are welcome to eat with their K-4 brothers, sisters and parents.      
   
• K-4 Assembly this afternoon at 1:15pm in the gym.   Parents, guardians and grandparents are welcome to attend.
   
• Senior Boys volleyball games today after school at 4:15pm and 6:15pm at Irwin.
   
• Senior Girls volleyball games today after school at 4:15pm and 6:15pm at the Comp.
   
• Active Play Program due back today.    There is a drop-off box located in the office.   Active Play Program begins Monday, November 6^th.    Details will follow closer to this date.
   
• No School on Monday.
   
• 81/82 swimming lessons next week Tuesday through to Friday.
   
• Halloween on Tuesday.   Students are welcome to dress up for the afternoon.   Please consider the following when dressing up:
• No scary, graphic or ghoulish costumes
• Leave any weapons that accompany costumes at home (swords, knives, etc…)
• No masks or costumes that are going to prevent students from being able to sit in their desks and learn.
• Make sure costumes are simple to slip in and out of
• Students do not have to dress up.   Students are welcome to dress in orange and black or Irwin School colors rather than a costume.
  
  

• Author Visit – We have author Suzanne de Montigny coming to meet with students on Tuesday morning in the gym.
  
  

• Poetry Contest
• $400 first prize, $350 second prize, $300 third prize. All Irwin submissions entered into a book draw.
• Grade 7 and 8 students who are interested in entering poetry into the Jesemy Stursberg National Poetry Contest please ask your ELA teacher or Mr. Biem for information.
