TODAY AT IRWIN:

• Happy Birthday to Aubrey Woelk.  Please come to the office for your birthday pencil.

• In regards to the note that was sent home yesterday, the K-4 Assembly will be held on Wednesday September 27 at 12:30, not Friday, September 29 as mentioned in the hand-out.

• Today will be the last day for Grade 6 swimming lessons.

• Grade 4 classes will be taking a field trip to the Food Farm today.   Please wear your t-shirts you received from the Food Farm last spring.

• Sr. Girls volleyball will have practice today after school from 3:30 – 5:00pm.

• School Pictures for Mrs. McWillie's Kindergarten class through to Grade 7 will be today.  

• School Pictures for Mrs. Dyck's Kindergarten and the Grade 8's will be tomorrow.

• Pizza day will be tomorrow.    Students will have their break beginning at 11:35 and will eat at 12:00.

• Grade 5 Flag Football will be Saturday at Fairview School beginning at 10am. 
  
  
   
• No school for students on Monday, due to PLC day.
  
   
• Toast Tuesday will begin on Tuesday, September 26^th, starting at 8:00am.
  
   
• Grade 4 swimming lessons will start Tuesday.   Lessons will run from September 26^th – 29^th and October 2^nd – 5^th

• Reminder to all students to collect pledges for the Terry Fox Run, which will be held Thursday, September 28^th during Period 3 and 4.  Every student who registers to collect pledges online will be entered to win a bike from the Terry Fox Foundation and they will also be entered into a draw for a prize at Irwin School.  If we beat last year's total of $5,000, Mr. Darby will shave his head.   If we beat last year's total by $1,000, Mr. Wong will shave his head and Mr. Froese will shave his beard.  Pledge sheets are due back on Thursday, September 28^th and should be handed in to your homeroom teacher.

•  "Vote to Kiss the Goat"!!  Ballots are now available for $1 each and will be sold in the foyer during morning and afternoon breaks. Students and staff can purchase ballots to vote for the staff member of their choice to kiss a goat.  Remember the more ballots purchased will increase the chance of one of the following canidates of having to kiss the goat:  Mr. Grainger, Mrs. Thompson, Michele, Mrs. Schommer, Mrs. Painchaud, Mrs. Robinson and Miss Goodine.

• Irwin Ice Cross-Country Running 11^th Anuual Freeze Up will be held Thursday, September 28^th beginning at 3:45pm.
  
   
• SCCHS Colts Volleyball match will be held at Irwin on Friday, September 29^th beginning at 1:15pm.    Wear Red!!
  
   
• On Friday, September 29^th, we will be having a "Toonie for Terry" hat day.  Spend a toonie to wear your hat and help raise funds for cancer research.
  
   
• Surge Basketball Fall Camp Forms – for any Grade 5 – 8 students that did not receive a form from Mrs. Fritzke yesterday, you can pick one up from her classroom.
  
   
• Reminder that students are not allowed to eat their lunch in the shop hallway.​
