Call for Nominations and Mail-in Ballot Option

In Saskatchewan, municipal and school board elections are governed by The Local Government Election Act, 2015. Persons wishing to interpret or administer the law should consult the original Act and Regulations.

CALL FOR NOMINATIONS: Chinook School Division No. 211 Board of Education Members

Nomination forms may be obtained at the Chinook Education Centre, at your local Urban Municipal office, or download the nomination form here

Nominations will be received starting on September 22 and until October 7 at 4:00pm.

Sub-divisions 1-8 *
Number of Positions: One per Sub-division 1-7, 3 positions in Sub-division 8 

Nominations for Sub-divisions 1-7 must be submitted personally or by agent to Chinook Education Centre, 2100 Gladstone St. E., Swift Current; by mail to Box 1809, Swift Current, S9H 4J8; email electioninfo@chinooksd.ca; or fax 306-773-8011.​

*Nominations for Sub-division 8 Swift Current, 3 Positions, must be submitted to City Hall, 177 1st Avenue NE, Swift Current. Details on their website.

Mail-in Ballot

For voters who anticipate being unable to vote at an established polling station in the subdivisions where there will be an election, there will be a mail-in ballot option.​

The Returning Officer of the Chinook School Division will be accepting applications to vote in subdivisions 1-7 using a mail-in ballot from Tuesday, September 15, 2020 until Monday, October 19, 2020 at 4:00 p.m.

Applications may be made by email, fax, regular mail or in person. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, all in person applications will require an appointment to be made in advance. Voters may contact the Chinook Education Centre for an available date and time. All applicants must provide proof of identity and residence as per Section 14 of The Local Government Election Regulations, 2015.

Voters will send their mail in ballots to the Chinook Education Centre by post mail or delivery, and the ballots must be received at CEC no later than 4:00pm on November 9, 2020.

The City of Swift Current is also offering a mail-in ballot option for sub-division 8 (Swift Current), along with the municipal election. More details can be found on their website.
