Today the City of Swift Current announced that the 2nd Ave overpass will be completely closed for construction starting on Monday, May 2, 2016. This will affect some bus routes for city schools for the remainder of the school year.
If your child’s bus route time (drop-off or pick-up) will be adjusted, you will receive direct notice on Thursday, April 28 through our automated voice message Synrevoice system and your child will also receive a note from their bus driver at the end of the school day.
A list of affected bus routes with their adjustment details will also be posted on the Chinook website in “Division News”, city school websites including All Saints Catholic, and Chinook Facebook page.
All city bus routes can expect occasional delays in drop off times at the end of the day caused by an increase in traffic and wait times at train crossings. We are working diligently to keep bus routes efficient and safe while we plan for the overpass closure, and we appreciate the patience and understanding of families, students and community members.
Thank you to the City of Swift Current for their cooperation and accommodation of temporary bus parking at the iPlex for the north side routes.
Below are the details of the modified routes and times*:
Bus #1013 (White Circle) to École Centennial and All Saints schools
- Starting Monday, May 2nd, the pickup time will be 5 minutes earlier in the morning.

Bus #1030 and #1031 to SCCHS
- Students coming from the south side on these buses will NOT have adjusted pick up times.
- Starting Monday, May 2nd, the pickup time for north side students on these buses will be 15 minutes earlier in the morning and they will be picked up by Bus #1028.
- Bus #1028 will be the north side students’ bus (who were previously on #1030 and #1031) in the AM and PM from May 2nd until the end of June.

*These are the only adjusted routes/schools at this time.
ALL families should be aware that their busses could be running late in the afternoon because of increased traffic at intersections and railway crossings.
