Grade 11 Students Applying For Early Entrance - Updates to Transcript Requirements:   The University of Saskatchewan and other post-secondary institutions are now requiring students to submit their grade 11 transcripts along with their mid and final grade 12 transcripts  in order for the student to be considered for early entrance acceptance and scholarships.  Only transcripts will be accepted and need to be ordered directly from the Ministry of Education (see link at the side). Students are encouraged to order the grade 11 transcript and pre-order the other two for later on, for cost purposes (you can order up to ten at one time or it's $20 every time you go in to order another).

There are three types of Scholarships for students in grades 11 and 12:

1. Public Scholarships, Bursaries and Awards

This comprehensive list (below) of student awards will be updated on a regular basis. The scholarships, bursaries and awards on this list include local, regional, provincial and national awards. The list also includes awards for workforce and apprenticeship students. There is also a list of scholarships for grade 11s and popular scholarship websites that students can use.

2. Entrance Awards

Please check with your post-secondary institution or workplace for entrance awards that are available. Be mindful to check back often to the websites, do a quality job with your applications and watch the deadlines.

3. School and Local Community

Each local community and school will have a list of potential awards for grade 12 graduates. Please check with your school as these are specific awards that are usually posted by each school in spring to the graduating class. These are specific awards to each school and community.

The Scholarships Canada  website is very useful for students. Sign up for an account, select the post-secondary institution(s) you want to attend or are interested in along with the area(s) of study. The site will then email you any relevant information along with alerts for deadlines.

The Top Schools in Canada website is very useful to students. The website provides links to the top schools in Canada. You will find specific details on application strategies, access webinars, link to application deadlines, find out more about the institution you are interested in, and so much more.
