What an interesting evening for Lucille and Rupert. I got to know them a little better and they were able to see their very first hockey game! Rupert asked if he could share his experience with you...

What an exciting trip, but we finally found this friendly little village called Tompkins and we knew instantly that this was where we wanted to stay. When we arrived in the morning yesterday, it was still dark, but we could see the lights on in their school. We knocked on the main door hoping that someone was there. We were ecstatic to meet Mrs. Stenson! I think we gave her quite the scare!! It had been quite a long journey so we spent most of the day napping in her office. She was very excited when we told her we would like to stay and she started calling around and making arrangements. She informed us that we could spend the first night with her and her family and that we would be able to see our first hockey game!!
At the end of the day, we woke up just in time to meet all of the students briefly. We can't wait to get to know them!! Mrs. Stenson gathered up her stuff and we were off to the hockey game. It was very exciting. Mrs. Stenson's daughter, Payton, and her friends play for the team, Southwest Midget Cyclones. We traveled to Eastend with her to take on their team. I must admit we had to stay tucked into the Trainer's bag as it was quite chilly, but we loved the exciting action of the game. We even got to take a picture at the end with their goalie!!
After the game and a fabulous rink burger and fries, we headed to their ranch for the night. We couldn't believe how many furry members of their family there were...Finley, Mazy, Chloe, Penny, Aspen, Agnes, Andy, Fuzz, Sport and Momma Cat!! Wow, we felt right at home. We had a quick snack and met all the human members of the household, Kennedy, Evan and Kent, and it was time for bed. Finley was kind enough to offer up her bed to us for the night and we were so exhausted our eyes were closed before the lights were out. Thank you so much to the Stenson family for the hospitality!
This morning we were up early and out the door to arrive back at school. We have been hanging out by the Christmas tree getting to know everyone! We can't wait for all of our adventures!!
